KINDY CITIZENS AT “ANIMAL WORLD”

During the last two weeks of FUNTASTIC SCIENCE QUEST, Kindy Citizens at all campuses have experienced “Be A Little Biologist” science project. This project is for students to understand the importance of our natural environment and get to know the animals’ lives and their habitats.

When learning about how animals move, children were introduced to the unique movement of crabs – crabs only move sideways.

Children learnt about different parts of a crab and then from memory they made a drawing of one.

Children practiced using paint brushes in the activity called “Create A Fun Egg”

They sharpened their fine motor skills with a play-dough activity to make an elephant.

They also cut and folded pieces of paper to create colorful insects.

Most especially, children had a memorable trip to Botanical Garden. With the amazing journey on the train, the kids got one surprise after another at the animal world by encountering elephants, monkeys, giraffes, crocodiles and tigers, etc.

They could also see with their own eyes a butterfly’s life and the pollination of flowers.

Endless curious questions were raised when they saw “friends that come out of the books”: What are elephants’ trunks for? and ‘What do we call the horses with stripes?’ Or ‘Why are giraffes taller than other animals?’…

The children fed the animals

They watched the big elephants

They also took part in an elephant drawing competition

The children acquired knowledge, observed nature and reality during the trip, which undoubtedly would help them improve their social skills and practice good manners in public. That is the very development that Kindy City has promised to offer.
