How does music impact and influence a child’s brain? What positive outcomes on childhood development occur when children are exposed to music at an early age?
Kindy City International Preschool organized a week of teaching and learning with the topic, World of Musical Instruments, in order to create a playing field and support to develop children’s intelligence. This was done through lessons that used music to talk about such topics as language development, vocabulary enrichment or critical thinking enhancement about Math and Science.
The students got to know first pitches
They were instructed in how to create simple musical instruments
Getting familiar with the instruments
Studying the “World of Musical Instruments” not only helped the children with the most basic understanding of the instruments by directly seeing these different instruments, it allowed them to distinguish some sounds of conventional instruments as well try out the instruments themselves. They listened to the tunes of their appropriate age, but were also encouraged to get involved thus helping improve their social interaction skills as well as help them be more confident. A trip to the Erato School of Music & Performing Arts (ESMPA), was at the core of this as it enabled the space for the children’s creativity to flourish. It is the first private music school with complete facilities in an ideal space for educational, cultural and art activities.
At Erato, the children participated in performances with various musical instruments such as the piano, drum, trumpet and many others.
The kids spin and sway to the rhythm of music with the songs “Finger family”, “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” …

Under gentle background music, suitable for their preschool age, the children joined in guessing names of animals through the images that vividly illustrated the characteristics of many species.
Each child with a book in hand is passionately reading and exploring the world of book.
The children took a picture together to save memories before ending the week of learning about “World of Musical Instruments”.
Experience of music from a young age is really important for a child’s development. Let music be the companion of your kids!
