During the Lunar New Year, children who secretly eat seeds during school hours is something that makes many parents very worried and anxious. This is especially true, due to the health risks and the danger it may bring to their child.
This is why KINDY CITY has integrated a SEEDS STUDY topic whereby children are taught the proper way to eat sunflower seeds under teacher supervision. Teachers at Ly Thuong Kiet campus found this topic to be very useful and practical for teaching students the correct way to de-shell different seeds before eating them.
KINDY CITY recognizes that Dolphin and Giraffe classes are only able to learn this lesson under close supervision of the nannies, teachers and managers. After preparing a plate of sunflower seeds, Ms. Hong asked her students questions regarding the kinds of seeds the class was about to enjoy. She took notes and kept track of common mistakes students made when eating seeds. This included biting half of the seed, chewing with the shell still on and laughing simultaneously. Therefore she created a lively lesson in her classroom, in order for children to easily absorb and remember the correct way to eat seeds.
With careful instructions and a step-by-step guide students were taught how to hold seeds properly, place them properly between their teeth, bite down to peel off the shell, use their fingers to remove the shells and chew well to enjoy the taste of the seed.
This lesson not only helps KINDY CITY students understand different kinds of seeds, but also encourages students to eat them safely while enjoying their benefits.
