Balls are an essential toy for every child, especially at preschool age. Almost every child loves to play with balls.
Understanding this, in mid-October, Kindy City International Preschool will organize an outdoor learning trip to meet the “Learn through Play” criteria. This will be in conjunction with the learning project of “Ball Study”, getting the children to play with, and learn more about balls.
Throwing, catching, tossing, and kicking are simple but complementary movements. These movements require hand-eye coordination with the other muscles of the body to help children harness fine motor and gross motor skills. Those physical developments will be useful for children when practicing writing, cycling and other skills later.
With the ball rolling movement, children are trained rhythmically with their bodies and develop the ability to orient in space, especially when the knees are slightly bent and hands are open wide in order to roll the ball forward. When a child moves the ball and passes the ball to a friend it also demonstrates team spirit.
In particular, with water gun and basketball activities, the school provides opportunities for children to become familiar with the principles of physics (gravity, friction etc.) and skills in mathematics, technology and even the arts. These are all gently integrated through games and outdoor activities for the children.
Your children will have great time learning through the “Balls Study” project in Kindy City!
