The main mission of preschool teachers is not only about the “teaching” but also about the “caring and nurturing”. The intrinsic motivation which covers up all these intense processes is the teacher’s love, care and attention.
At this age, children stay with teachers at least 8 hours per day. Their feeding, sleeping and initial learning, including the awareness of their surroundings and basic life skills all depends on the teachers. The teachers spend a lot of time and effort to take care of them, not only in class but teachers also play such an important role in their life as “the second mother”.
The most basic requirement and also the ultimate one of this teaching career is that they genuinely love and respect the children. These things are not only expressed through words or language but also in the way they behave and gesture in parenting. Their love is challenged almost every day because of many factors that come from their unique and various psychological processes. Each child has a different character; and more than anyone else, if the love does not come from the teacher’s heart, it could result in depression. They always work so hard based on the consistent principle that “The child needs to be understood, respected and loved so that they can have fun, broaden their knowledge in the most natural way and know how to behave well.”
Everyone knows that at this stage, children often act instinctively according to their needs. Therefore, in Kindy City International Preschool’s study environment, teachers always patiently monitor children’s behavior. They take notes and then only give them the right instruction based on their basic knowledge and habit, being careful not to impose or force them to follow. Because we all want the child to have chances to develop individual creativity. Accordingly, respect for the diversity of children’s opinions, thoughts as well as their own orientation is also one of the principles of discipline and children development at Kindy.
Within the framework of the program “Talking with Experts” which is held periodically, the school honorably invited the Doctor in Education Nguyen Thi Bich Hong – lecturer for HCMC University of Education – to share some thoughts. “If teachers are considered a point of the compass, students will be a point of the pencil. It is not the teacher’s responsibility to draw a circle as big as possible or make children become successful, but the main purpose is to draw the completed one so that children can become the happiest people in the world.”
From November 1st to December 1st, Kindy City International Preschool offers a special promotion to encourage early enrollment into the up-to-date Creative Curriculum. |
