Each child has a fond memory which is a significant part of his life’s journey. The 2016 Mid-Autumn Festival has been carried out but it must be a good long-lasting impression for every single child.
During the Festival, tiny citizens of Kindy City have been involved in interesting “Learn through Play” time within different fantastic traditional activities; one of which is decorating the lanterns.
This activity supports the students to improve fine motor skills and creative power by coloring, fingerprint painting, creative painting, color mixing and lay-outing the plasticity products. Being sung along with the activity, lyrics of their common song have been repeated unceasingly: “Celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with traditional 5-pointed star shaped lanterns, we perform all over the streets. Happily holding them in our hands, we sing aloud under the Moon’s light …”.
Folksongs were sung, lanterns were made and laughter was heard from all the children.
The students were able to meet the Moon Lady and the Moon Man. Many questions were asked, which showed their eagerness to knowledge: “Why does the Moon Man live with the Moon Lady in the Moon?”, “After celebrating the festival here with us, where would they go, teacher?” and so on.

Singing at the Mid-Autumn Festival
Following the instruction from Tourism & Hospitality Saigontourist School’s teachers, the students were able to practice observation, discrimination and communication skills. They tried their best to make the Moon Cakes to bring home for their parents.
